Our primary text will be Ted Gioia’s Healing Songs. There is a huge recommended listening bibliography in the back of the book and it would be best if you had Spotify or another such subscription service to access these works. This is #6 in a series exploring the meaning of music as a fundamental factor in human (and more-than-human) life. Music is a crucial metaphor in Henry Corbin’s theological cosmology and our motivation in this series derives in part from his vision and encompasses music as both a spiritual phenomenon and as expressive of the very matrix of physical reality.
Classes are mostly lecture. Full tuition is $150 although there is a sliding scale for those with limited funds. All participants get downloads of the recorded sessions.
