Talking About Jung
and a teaser for February…
I remember feeling very inarticulate and confusing in this discussion of Jung and much else with Jeremy, but it might be worth hearing for yourself…
And: I am fairly sure we’ll be reading Corbin and thinking about the Conference of the Birds in February, and perhaps beyond. We’ll be done with the current sessions at the end of January and we’ll not miss a week, but start right in on portions of Avicenna and the Visionary Recital with special attention to Corbin’s treatment of Avicenna’s Recital of the Birds and his discussion of Attar’s great poem. And I hope to have a translation of parts of Corbin’s translation of Suhrawardi with commentary, L’Archange Empourpré, containing L’Incantation de la Simorgh and Corbin’s commentaries. I’ll have more details and sign-up in a week or so. Until then you can always sign on to the current sessions on Coccia’s book and catch up with the recordings… send me an email. It’s being quite intense for me, and I think interesting for all of us…

Btw there was an amazing therapist, Bugental? who discouraged talking "about" life. Was it Joni Mitchell who said "life is for living."? Happy New Year. 🙏🏽✨✨✨
Times have changed. Mindfulness has replaced meditation though it still is practiced. "Enlightenment" occurs in community. We know it changes DNA. Perhaps off topic but a academia dot edu has lots on using Jung in many ways. Tom, I didn't hear back on scholarship so I'm just checking in. This looks a little too heady just now. I'm exploring my Irish roots and reading poetry. Have a great time all.
